TEXT: JOHN 11:10-13 NKJV
[11] These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.” [12] Then His disciples said, “Lord, if he sleeps he will get well.” [13] However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.

Today’s devotional focuses on what revelation is and how to tap into the benefits of divine revelation. Revelation is when something is made known to you by the help of the Holy Spirit something you would never have known unless the Lord revealed it to you. When you know what is going to happen beforehand, it is like watching a movie that you have already seen.
God loves to reveal things to His children so that we are not caught unaware of the plans of the devil. It is a great blessing to know things before they happen. In our Bible text today, Jesus Christ knew what was happening in Judea even though He was not there physically. He saw when Lazarus died. He saw Himself calling Lazarus out of the grave. He also saw Himself telling the people to loose him and let him go before He physically went there to raise him. It was easy for Jesus to refer to Lazarus’ death as sleep because He saw the whole situation. There is no way you can doubt what you have seen. Only Jesus could call death sleep because everything that was happening in Judea was open to Him.
Do you realise that Jesus told His disciples that they should go and wake Lazarus up? No one had brought Him news of Lazarus’ death before He told the disciples to join Him in waking Lazarus from his sleep. The person who has revelation will always have the advantage in life, irrespective of the circumstances.
Brethren, let us ask God to help us see. Let us ask Him to open our spiritual eyes so that we may know what we need to know and act appropriately. We need revelation to see our present difficult situation as a walkover and to overcome every challenge before us.

Revelation from God is not for showing off; rather, it is a necessity for doing God’s work and living a victorious Christian life.
