Discussion
Today’s devotional is to explore some of the ways God answers prayers and how we need to be sensitive to the Lord’s leading in the place of prayer.
Our Bible texts today tells us about a man called Cornelius, who was a devout man. He feared God with all his household, gave generously to the people, and prayed to God continually (Acts 10:2). We need to learn a lesson from the life of Cornelius: he positioned himself to receive answers to his prayers.
He genuinely loved God and was always praying. We must develop the habit of praying without ceasing, especially in the Spirit. People of other religions are never ashamed to pray, whether at the airport, on the road, in the office, or anywhere else.
As children of God, we must never be ashamed to pray. Prayer is our most potent weapon.
Our objective for today is to encourage us to keep our hearts open when we pray. God answered Cornelius’ prayer in our text today by giving him instructions on what to do. Sometimes, the answers to our prayers come as directions that may seem unpopular. Even some health challenges can be resolved by following simple instructions that God gives us. It could be to start taking certain supplements, to stop eating or doing something, or to take some drastic steps regarding the issues at hand.
As Jeremiah 33:3 reminds us, God answers through divine revelation, instructions, and direction. All we need to do is follow His instructions, and we will receive our victory.
