TEXT: HEBREWS 6:11 KJV
[11] And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Discussion
Today’s devotional is to encourage us to have faith in the Lord until the end. The objective of today’s devotional is to let us know that our hope and trust in God must remain until the end, not for a year, a decade, or even a century, but until the end.
We must keep our faith alive and active. There are some things that could happen to us as believers that have the potential to make us lose hope, but we must not retreat or surrender.
Today’s Bible text tells us to show diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end. It will take diligence for us to push our faith to the finish line. Distractions will be many, and battles will be many, but with patience, diligence, and God on our side, we shall finish well.
The Apostle Paul had his own share of challenges in his journey of faith, so he said, “I have fought a good fight of faith.” (1 Timothy 6:12).
Jesus did not promise us a hitch-free Christian journey. In fact, He said that we would have tribulations, but He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
The matter is so serious that Jesus is at the right hand of God, making intercession for us (Romans 8:34). Jesus wants us to have hope until the end.
We need the following to keep the fire of hope burning:
1. Patience – Allowing God to take total control and following His guidance. What God has said He will do, He will surely do. He does not lie. Numbers 23:19.
2. Diligence – This is our spiritual exercise: praying, studying the Word, and preaching the Gospel. 2 Timothy 2:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Matthew 28:19–20; Mark 16:15–16.
3. Fellowship with true believers – This is when we come together as genuine believers, not to attack or find fault, but to encourage and support one another, especially vulnerable brothers and sisters, so that their hope may come alive again. Proverbs 27:17; Hebrews 10:25.
Brethren, as you keep your faith in God alive, God shall give you a testimony, in Jesus’ name.
Declarations:
I shall keep my faith in Jesus alive, in Jesus’ name. God shall see to it that I stand strong in Him. I know that I am more than a conqueror through Christ, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
