“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’”Luke 5:5
“But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.’”

Today’s scripture gives us an example of how our faith can grow by hearing the word of God. Peter had never met Jesus Christ before. He was just washing off his nets, ready to go home, when Jesus requested to use his boat to preach. Peter generously allowed Jesus to use his boat. He sat there and listened to the sermon from Jesus.
Afterward, Jesus asked him to launch out his net for a catch. Peter responded that he had toiled all night and caught nothing. Nevertheless, he decided to try again because he had already heard the word of Jesus, and through hearing His message, his faith had increased.
If you want to have a great catch like Peter, then you must remain in the word of God to increase your faith. Many times, what we receive from God is determined by the level of our faith. Anyone full of doubt lacks faith, and anyone who lacks faith lacks God’s word.
Let us make up our minds today to commit ourselves to hearing and obeying God’s word. I shall hear your testimony in Jesus’ name. Amen.
