TEXT: EZEKIEL 40:4 NKJV
“And the man said to me, ‘Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see.’”
Discussions:
There are three things to note in the scripture above: to behold with our eyes, hear with our ears, and set our hearts upon all that God has shown us. We need to take what God shows us seriously. Many people have become victims of taking God’s instructions or visions for granted. We need to keep our eyes, ears, and hearts pure and ready for God’s use. There are different categories of Christians: those who have eyes to see but do not have ears to hear or hearts to receive. Others can see and hear but do not take His word seriously.
Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. (Gen 7:5).Noah could see, hear, and receive the word of God, so he took God’s word seriously. That seriousness not only saved him, but also saved his entire family. Many people saw Noah building the ark, and they may have mocked him because they did not have hearts to receive God’s message. Others did not take him seriously, but in the end, only the man who took God seriously was delivered.
Brethren, today let us take seriously what God is showing or speaking to us, and as we do this, may we not miss out on God’s plan in Jesus’ name.
Practical Steps
1. Have a notepad to write down what God shows or tells you. Hab 2:2
2. Make it a habit to go over your notes once in a while.
3. Pray about every dream, whether positive, negative, or neutral.
4.Look for relevant scriptures to support what you see or hear.
Declaration:
I shall take my God seriously in Jesus’ name.
