[15] But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
Discussions:
In today’s Bible text, Elisha needed to prophesy, but the atmosphere he was in could not allow him to engage fully in the Spirit. The atmosphere in the room was too toxic for God’s presence to manifest freely. He had to change the atmosphere by asking a minstrel to play for him so that he could prophesy.
Have you noticed that when a group of people are sitting together and one of them begins to fall asleep, sooner or later the slumber begins to spread, and one by one the whole group starts to slumber? This is because the spirit of slumber has taken over the atmosphere. You will agree with me that this can be a dangerous group to be in, especially if the Holy Spirit nudges you to pray at that time.
As children of God, we must take responsibility for our atmosphere. If we do not, other spirits operating within that atmosphere may take charge. Do not allow the devil to take control of where you are. You are to determine what happens in your atmosphere. There are spirits that spread themselves and find ways to multiply in any atmosphere. Examples of such spirits include anger, depression, immorality, and others.
Practical Steps :
1. Cast out any strange spirit around you.
2. Saturate your environment with worship.
3. Give room for the spirit of joy and remain grateful always.
4. Identify the people or agents spreading negative influences and respectfully excuse them, if possible.
Declaration:
I shall not give room for satanic operations in my atmosphere, in Jesus’ name. Jesus lives inside me, so where I am, Jesus is; and where Jesus is, darkness cannot coexist.
