TEXT: PSALM 101:2 NKJV
I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
Discussions:
Today’s devotional is one of the many writings of King David. He said he would behave wisely in a perfect way. This means there are ways a person can behave unwisely before the Lord. It calls for taking caution before the Lord and following the necessary protocols.
In the Old Testament, there were specific protocols to follow before one could approach God. The priests had to carry out various animal sacrifices, but Jesus came and removed these protocols, showing us a much simpler way to approach God.
The Lord’s Prayer is a model of prayer (Matthew 6:9–13). The Apostle Paul also gave us a principle (Hebrews 11:6) of believing when approaching God. Coming to God with thanksgiving is also a form of protocol.
Brethren, we still need to follow protocol in approaching God, but these are much easier and more straightforward. The steps below are some ways to behave wisely before God:
Practical Steps :
1. Go to God with thanksgiving (Psalm 100)
2. Have faith in God – Hebrews 11:6
3. Be kingdom-minded – Matthew 6:9–13
4. Engage in holy living – Hebrews 12:14
5. Wait on Him for direction and instruction – Psalm 85:8
Declarations:
I shall behave myself before God. I shall enter His presence with thanksgiving, believe Him, live holy and wait on Him in Jesus name. I shall not behave unwisely before the Lord
