Discussion

Hope you had a wonderful church service today. Today’s devotional encourages us to watch daily. Watching here refers to our daily prayer life and commitment to the Word of God. God is calling us to a life of daily consecration. Our text today says:

“Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.”

If we read this verse in context, Solomon was referring to wisdom as speaking. However, since God is the source and fountain of wisdom, it is appropriate to understand this as God speaking to us. For us to be blessed, we must hear Him daily and watch in prayer at His gates.

Many Christians pray, but not daily. Many read the Bible, but not daily. God desires us to commune with Him every day through His Word and through consistent communication in prayer. There are many benefits of watching daily.

Benefits of Watching Daily
1. It helps us build a disciplined life.
2. It gives us boldness in God’s presence.
3. It helps us grow in the knowledge of God.
4. It gives us direction for our daily lives.
5. It delivers us from daily temptations.

Brethren, we are encouraged today to maintain an unbroken personal daily watch for a richer and more fruitful Christian spiritual journey.

It is also important to note that we cannot substitute our personal time with God with daily devotional received or online prayer meetings. While these are valuable, they should complement not replace our personal fellowship with Him.

God fashioned our hearts individually (Psalm 33:15), and He has the capacity to communicate with all 8.3 billion people in the world simultaneously, according to each person’s unique makeup, without any difficulty. God desires to hear from us daily.

God bless you.

Declarations:

I shall watch daily. My commitment to prayer and God’s Word shall remain unbroken, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
