Discussion
We are focusing today on the abundant provision of God, knowing that God can do exceedingly more than we can ever imagine. Our Bible text today tells us that God can provide to a point where we become dumbfounded (Luke 5:4–8).
Peter launched his net and caught fish like he had never seen before in all his years as a fisherman. The only way he could respond to the miracle was to fall at Jesus’ feet on his knees and acknowledge his sins and iniquities.
There are some miracles God performs simply to prove that He is the God who is in charge of all things. In Luke 9:13–17, Jesus used five loaves of bread and two fish to feed five thousand men. He did not only feed them; He also ensured that there were about twelve baskets left over, showing that He can supply more than enough.
In Psalm 23:5, the Bible says, “God anointed David with oil; his cup runneth over.” This speaks of abundance. Sometimes, God proves to mankind that He is not just the God of “just enough,” but also the God of “more than enough.”
Our objective in today’s devotional is to deliver a direct message to someone who urgently needs God’s intervention in the form of provision to meet an immediate need. God is saying today that He can provide for our needs and leave us with so much that it will surprise us.
Psalm 50:10 says, “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” God can direct any of the cattle in any direction He wants. God is the owner of all things, including silver and gold (Haggai 2:8).
The issue many times is that we doubt whether God can really do it. Peter had his doubts, but he obeyed Jesus’ instruction. He did not allow his doubts to stop him from experiencing the miracle.
Practical Steps
1. Trust God.
2. Ask Him to supply your need
3. Obey His instructions.
4. Thank God for the little you have.
5. Praise God when you see His hand in your life. Do not call it luck.

My God shall supply all my needs. I shall live in abundance to the glory of the Lord. I shall be a blessing to many as God entrusts me with His resources.
