TEXT: GENESIS 37:15 KJV
[15] And a certain man found him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?
Discussions:
Today’s discussion focuses on identifying the strategic people God places on our journey in life. Joseph was wandering in the field. He was lost, but he met a man who was able to help him.
Brethren, God still sends men like angels into the paths of people. I have heard stories of individuals who got stranded on the road ,their cars broke down, and someone came from nowhere to help them. Before they could even say “thank you,” the person was gone. God does not want His children to be lost or stranded. When God sends such people your way, may He give you the grace to recognize them.
When God wants to deliver His own from toiling, He sends strategic people to them. However, many have ignored or even driven them away because they were not sensitive enough to recognize and honour those sent by God.
Sometimes, God sends people to help us in our prayer lives. God knows how limited we are as humans; that is why the Holy Spirit helps us to pray.
Permit me to share a personal example. During the delivery of one of our children, the labour took quite a long time. I prayed intensely, bound and loosed, and spoke the Word, yet the cervix did not open even after several days. I did all I knew to do, but it remained closed. Then someone called me and said, “Let’s pray, even if it’s just for five minutes.” The major statement the person made while praying was, “The blood of Jesus.” Immediately, the Holy Spirit confirmed to me that was the key to that situation. After the five minutes prayer, I began to plead the blood of Jesus continually, and within two – three hours, the baby was born.
God had to send someone to show me how to handle that particular situation at that time.
There are many examples in the Bible of people who experienced this kind of divine intervention: Abraham, David, Joshua, and others.
Practical steps :
1. Be hospitable and respectful
2. Be sensitive
3. Be open
4. Be bold enough to ask for all you need. Don’t request a slice when you need a loaf.
Declaration:
I receive the ministry of men like angels sent to me by God in Jesus name.
