TEXT: ISAIAH 41:10 NKJV
[10] Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Fear has been defined by some as False Evidence Appearing Real. The reality is that when someone encounters something beyond his or her understanding, ability, or control, it is normal to be afraid. However, the way individuals respond to fear varies. What may terrify one person may not have the same effect on another.
The reason for this could be experience, knowledge, genetics, or strength. However, when situations beyond a person’s control occur, they can become fearful.
The Bible text for today assures us that our God is always on our side, regardless of the situation in which we find ourselves. It is okay to be afraid, but it is not okay to remain afraid. When fear knocks at your heart, that is the time to run to God, who has promised in His Word that He is with us. This not a time to be quiet. Its a time to speak to the issue about our God and as we begin to speak the word of God, we starve our fears and feed our faith.
It is high time we began to walk with the assurance that God is always by our side. As long as God is with us, we are safe. No matter the challenges we face, God has said that He will help us and uphold us. Therefore, do not allow your feelings to affect the truth of God’s Word.
The news around us at the moment can create fear. While many reports may be factual, the truth of God’s Word says that God is with us and that He will uphold us with His righteous right hand.
The righteous right hand of God is the hand of His mercy. It intervenes on our behalf despite our shortcomings. Through His mercy, He makes us righteous according to His standard.
David had to face Goliath with this mindset. Other experienced soldiers were terrified when they saw Goliath, but David remembered that God was with him despite the intimidating presence of Goliath standing before him.
God is speaking to someone today: do not be afraid. His everlasting arm is long enough to bring us out of any pit, no matter how deep it may be.
I shall hear your testimonies in Jesus name.
Declarations:
I shall not fear, for God is with me. Any challenge I am facing at the moment shall not see my end; rather, I shall surely see its end. God will strengthen me, help me, and uphold me with His righteous right hand. Amen.
