TEXT: ACTS 6:3 NKJV
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
Discussions:
We shall be concluding our discussion on the qualities of leaders in the early church today. We will be looking at wisdom as one of the important qualities they sought in leaders, in addition to the fullness of the Holy Spirit. The gift of wisdom (a part of the gifts of the Spirit) is also necessary in leadership.
This gift helps us serve God more effectively and appropriately. You need wisdom to know how to navigate the evil plans of the enemy. Do you know it took wisdom for Jesus to answer when He was asked whether to pay taxes or not? It also took wisdom to respond to the woman caught in the act of adultery who was brought before Him. If Jesus had answered carelessly, they would have trapped Him by His words.
As leaders at work, in school, in ministry, in the family, and in the church, wisdom is a critical quality you must have. It will guide your speech, your actions, and your entire life. The good news is that we can always ask God for wisdom (James 1:5).
If ignorance costs lives, wisdom saves lives. Ask God for wisdom today.
