GOD’S BANNER OVER US IS LOVE

GOD’S BANNER OVER US IS LOVE

TEXT: SONGS OF SOLOMON 2:4 KJV

He brought me to the banqueting house, And his banner over me was love.

 Discussions:

Today’s devotional focuses on the love of God for mankind. This text is one of the lines from the anthem of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International. It takes deep understanding to realize that God’s love cannot be fully explained or fathomed.

Solomon must have understood the meaning of God’s special love for him. He was not even born to a legitimate mother, yet God placed him in the position of a king over Israel. God not only put him in that position but also set him up to offer a sacrifice, creating an opportunity to bless him with wisdom and wealth.

Brethren, you cannot work for God’s love—it is not possible. If God loves you, He loves you. The objective of this devotional is to open your eyes to God’s love for you. God loves you regardless (Rom. 5:8). You are the apple of His eye. God knows the number of hairs on your head (Luke 12:7). You are His.

Do you realize that the first statement Jesus taught us when praying is to call God “Our Father”? God is not someone distant in heaven, too powerful to reach. He is your Father. Talk to Him. Express your feelings, your strengths, and your weaknesses. He loves you anyway, and He will help you. He truly wants to hear from you.

I shall hear your testimony, in Jesus’ name.

Declarations:

I know God loves me. I know He cares for me. I will not take His love for granted in Jesus name.
