THE ALPHA AND OMEGA

TEXT: REVELATION 1:8 KJV

[8] “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

Discussion

The Bible text for today reminds us of the God we serve. The Lord spoke to John the beloved in a revelation about Himself. He said, “I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.”
This means that God is the beginning. Without Him, nothing was made, because everything that was created started with Him (John 1:2), and everything ends in Him. If everything starts with Him and ends in Him, then nothing happens without His knowledge.

Today’s devotional is to encourage someone who feels that God does not seem to be aware of their current situation. I have been sent to you by God today through this devotional to remind you that God is the Alpha of your life, not the devil. Because He is the Alpha, He started your life; therefore, no devil can end what God has started.

We are assured that whatever God does shall be forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God does this so that man will fear Him (Ecclesiastes 3:14). Our lives are projects in the hands of God. God started them, and only He can bring them to completion.

When we are confused about a situation and seem not to know what to do, there is a way out in the Alpha and Omega. We must never allow guilt or regret to hold us back from running to God. Even when we go on our own to start something that God has not asked us to start, the moment we realise that the enemy is taking full advantage of our disobedience to attack us, instead of suffering in regret, we should simply go back to God. He is the Alpha of our lives, and He knows what to do to put us back on the path of destiny.

The fact that you have lost your track in God does not mean that it is the end. Go back to God in prayer and humility. He is truly the Alpha and Omega.

Sometimes, we also face challenges and difficulties, not because we have disobeyed God, but because those challenges and difficulties will ultimately bring glory to God and make us a demonstration of His power and wonders. No matter what challenge comes your way, always remember: God is the Alpha and Omega of my life. Because of this, I know that I shall come out in triumph, to the glory of His name. Hallelujah!

Declarations:

The Lord is the Alpha and Omega of my life. No devil can end my life prematurely. No devil can truncate any good thing that God has started in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
