TEXT: JOHN 14:6 NKJV
[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me
Discussion
We shall continue with our discussion about Jesus today. The Bible teaches us that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. We have talked about Jesus as the way and as the truth, but today we shall discuss Jesus as the life.
John 1:4 says, “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” In Jesus, we have eternal life. Believe it or not, there is life after death. The Bible tells us in John 14:3 that He is going to prepare a place for us, and that He will come again and receive us unto Himself, so that where He is, there we may also be. This means that there is another life beyond this earthly body, and we have the responsibility to receive Jesus into our hearts by declaring Jesus as Lord and believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead; then we shall be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the guarantee of having access to the place He has prepared for us.
To have eternal life, we must be saved. To be saved simply means receiving Jesus and refusing to return to our old life. Having Jesus in our lives means that we become dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:11).
Also, saying that Jesus is the life means that He has the power to bring to life anything that seems dead. In other words, if there are impossible circumstances in our lives that seem hopeless, they can be turned around by His command. Lazarus was dead for four days and had already been buried, but Jesus brought him back to life to show us that He has the power of life (John 11:41–42).
The vision of Ezekiel in Ezekiel 37:1–14 also shows that God is able to raise even very dry bones and cause them to become an exceedingly great army.
Brethren, I assure you today that as you surrender to Jesus in prayer and allow Him to be in charge of your life and any difficult circumstances or situations you may be facing, Jesus will show up for you. He does not disappoint.
Declarations:
Jesus is the life, and because I have Him, I have life in abundance (John 10:10). Every dry bone in my life shall rise again, in Jesus’ name. My life shall be a testimony that Jesus is alive, in Jesus’ name.
