[17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

The word of God is one of the weapons needed for spiritual battles. It was referred to in the scripture above as sword of the spirit. This is our most important offensive weapon. When battle arises its the word of God in us that gives us the direction and affirms our victory. The word of God is the compass of a believer. There are many benefits of reading, studying and meditating on God’s word regularly:
1. Daily wisdom. Hab 2:1
2. Prophecies about our lives.
3. The word of God is full of power and has the ability to heal and give life. Psalm 107:20, John 1:4, Heb 4:12.

When we are in spiritual battle, it is the word of God we have put inside of us that comes out during the pressure. I once saw an illustration from a pastor. He applied pressure on an open water bottle filled with water and water came out because pressure reveals the reality of the things inside us.
We must put God’s word in us so that when pressure comes, the word content in us is released and we can be rest assured that His word shall accomplish that which He please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it.
Declaration:
I shall keep releasing the word until my change comes. As I speak the word every crooked places before me shall become straight. Isaiah 45:2
