FUTILE SACRIFICE

 TEXT: ISAIAH 1:13 KJV

Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

 Discussions:

The scripture today tells us that not all sacrifices are acceptable unto the Lord. Some sacrifices can be futile. God told the children of Israel not to waste their time offering futile sacrifices. Some praise and worship can be futile; tithes and offerings can be futile; serving in church can be futile. In fact, anything we do for God can be futile if we do not have the right heart.

Apostle Paul talked about this in Romans 12:1. He referred to it as acceptable and reasonable service. This means that what makes a sacrifice acceptable or futile depends on the individual offering it. The person bringing the sacrifice must be holy. When holiness comes from the heart, it will be evident outwardly.

God does not want us to judge others, but it is important to note that we must be holy and demonstrate to the world that we are not of it through our actions, our manner of dressing, and in every aspect of our lives.

Declarations:

I shall not give a futile sacrifice in Jesus name.
