TEXT: ACTS 6:3 NKJV
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
Discussions:
We shall continue with the qualities of leaders appointed to God’s business today. We shall be looking at the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit (energy) of heaven; it is the part of God released upon man to act like a god on earth. There are different energies in the world: one is from God, while others are of different shades and kinds from the devil.
Moses turned his rod into a snake; the magicians did the same. The good thing is that the evil spirit shall always bow to the Holy Spirit, just as Moses’ snake swallowed the magicians’ snakes (Exodus 7:10–13).
The Holy Ghost is the engine of a believer. The topic today shows that the Holy Ghost can be in measures; this means that a person who has the Holy Ghost but is not full is not qualified to serve in the early church. This implies that people serving God must be fully equipped with the Holy Ghost, because the assignment can be very challenging without Him.
If a believer is half full of the Holy Ghost, it will soon become obvious that the power is low. It takes power to preach the gospel, not just eloquence.
The only way to be full of the Holy Ghost is to learn to tarry in God’s presence. What determines the level of the Holy Ghost is how much time you spend in God’s presence. Brethren, lets create the time to stay in Gods presence in worship, prayers and in studying His word.
Declarations:
I shall not have a half measure of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ name. I receive the grace to tarry in God’s presence, in Jesus’ name
