The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,-

Todays devotional is a continuation of yesterdays devotional. The anointing of God upon a man is to make a difference. Satan is putting men in serious bondage: bondage of fear, bondage of sickness, bondage of disease. The anointing of God upon us is to pray for the sick and get them delivered from sickness. The anointing of God was upon Apostle Paul that his handkerchief was healing the sick (Acts 19:11–19).
We need to have a burden for the sick: if you are comfortable watching sick people around you and their pain does not affect you at all, you don’t need the anointing.
The anointing to heal is not needed in heaven because there is no sickness there, but it is needed here on earth. So God is eager to release the anointing but only if men can make themselves available by having the passion for others. It’s important to note that most sicknesses and diseases are caused by demon spirits (Mark 9:17–16, Luke 13:11–16: woman with spirit of infirmity eighteen years).
As we ask God for the anointing we must be ready to pray for the sick for healing.
