TEXT: PSALM 113:7–8 KJV
“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, Even with the princes of his people.”
Discussion
Today, we shall be looking at how God can lift a man suddenly.
Our Bible text says, “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill.” How can you explain a prisoner like Joseph becoming a prime minister within 24 hours? When God speaks, His word moves with such force that ensures that every jot of His word comes to pass. If He is ready to lift any man, anything is possible with God.
That is why we cannot limit God. God can turn a whole nation around overnight. A poor nation today can become a rich nation tomorrow.
There are many lessons to learn from COVID-19. If anyone had said that there would come a moment in the world when everything would stand still, no one would have believed it. This was just God showing us that He can put the whole world into lockdown if He wants to. Certainly, He owns the world, and He can do whatever He likes, at any time He wants, by whatever means He chooses.
God is using this devotional to remind someone of what He can do. You could be poor today, and if God calls you a millionaire, please do not doubt God.
The nation of Israel was in the midst of a great famine, and the Lord said the famine would be over within 24 hours. Even the king’s “financial adviser” expressed how impossible it was, saying that it could not happen even if God opened the windows of heaven. He went too far, and he paid for it dearly. Doubt is bad, but preaching doubt is terrible.
God used the leper to establish His word (2 Kings 7:3–20). A struggling nation suddenly became a prosperous nation.
The objective of today’s devotional is to encourage someone that God is still in the business of lifting men. And He shall surely lift you up as you trust in Him to help you.
One of the greatest attributes of God is His everlasting arm (Deuteronomy 33:27). This means that no matter how low a person may be, His everlasting arm is still underneath that person. He is able to go into the deepest depths and also reach the highest heights to raise anyone He wants to raise.
I shall hear your testimonies in Jesus’ name.
Declaration:
I am lifted by the Lord. Jesus, the Lifter of men, shall lift me up beyond human imagination.
