TEXT: PSALM 102:13 KJV
[13] Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: For the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
Discussions:
The Bible text for today is part of David’s prayer to God when he was overwhelmed and pouring out his heart before the Lord.
David prayed as though he knew the steps God would take to answer him. Imagine a son asking his father for chocolate and saying, “Daddy, I know you will give me chocolate because I have found favour in your sight, and my time for reward is now.” David’s approach to prayer simply shows that he was aware of God’s appointed time for favour and mercy.
God has a calendar for everything. He has a set time for every situation. For example, an elephant has a gestation period of twenty two months (roughly two years), while other mammals have much shorter periods. Any attempt for an elephant to deliver after only nine months of gestation, as humans do, would result in a premature calf. God created a specific time frame for each creature.
God also has a set time for His visitation. It may seem as though He is taking too long from a human perspective, but God’s timing is far better than man’s unreliable timing.
The story of Joseph in the Bible teaches us that situations may seem difficult and unpleasant, but any attempt to release Joseph from prison before Pharaoh’s dream would have wasted all the years of preparation and suffering he endured. Joseph interpreted the dreams of the cupbearer and the chief baker. The cupbearer was restored according to Joseph’s interpretation, but he forgot about Joseph because Joseph’s appointed time had not yet come. Thank God the cupbearer forgot! When Joseph’s set time arrived, Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret except Joseph. That single interpretation changed Joseph’s story forever.
There is someone reading this devotional today who feels that the people you expected to help you have forgotten about you. I have come to announce to you that all things will work together for your good. Your appointed time shall come, and your story shall change for good in Jesus’ name.
Keep praying, keep trusting, and be prepared for God’s timing.
I shall hear your testimony in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Declarations:
My set time for God’s intervention is now in Jesus name and I shall have great testimonies in Jesus name
