TEXT: ACTS 11:24 NKJV
[24] For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.
Discussion
We shall continue from yesterday’s discussion. Barnabas was not only a good man, but he was also full of the Holy Spirit and faith. We discussed the Holy Spirit yesterday; today, we shall discuss what it means to be full of faith.
The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). For us to experience the extraordinary works of God, we must be committed to growing our faith. Yesterday’s faith is not enough for today. Our faith must grow daily because our adversary is constantly devising new ways to bring us down (1 Peter 5:8). Our enemy never grows weary, so we must never grow weary of strengthening our faith each day.
The Bible tells us that faith grows by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). When we expose our spirits to the Word of God, we enlarge our capacity to experience the limitless possibilities found in Him.
We can also grow our faith by exposing ourselves to testimonies of God’s mighty acts (Revelation 12:11a).
The knowledge of God involves knowing both His ways and His acts. If we do not know His ways and His acts, we will not be able to understand His plans and purposes. God has a unique plan and purpose for each of us. It takes faith to receive God’s ideas, and it takes the power of God to establish His plans.
Faith is our belief, our trust, and our complete dependence on God. Satan creates situations that tempt us to doubt God, distrust Him, or become independent of Him. However, by continually exposing our spirits to the Word of God, we overcome the devil and grow stronger in our walk with God every day.
The measure of God’s Word that enlightens us determines the level of our faith. Therefore, let us commit ourselves to studying God’s Word daily, just as we eat our daily meals. The more we feed on God’s Word, the healthier and stronger we become spiritually. Through hearing preached Word of God and our personal daily Bible study, our faith will grow, and we will become strong in the Lord.
Brethren, we must be good, full of the Holy Ghost, and full of faith in order to live a victorious Christian life.

I shall take responsibility for growing my faith daily. As I feed on God’s Word, my faith will increase, my trust in God will deepen, and I will walk in victory every day, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
