TEXT: HABAKKUK 1:2,5 NKJV
[2] O Lord, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “Violence!” And You will not save.
[5] “Look among the nations and watch— Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.
Discussion
Today’s devotional is to remind us that our testimony is already on the way. Many people give up just at the edge of their breakthrough. They believe the lies of the devil, such as:
“Your situation cannot be resolved.”
“You cannot come out of this.”
“You are finished.”
“You are a mistake.”
“You don’t have a God.”
“You can’t make it.”
These are lies from the devil and not from God. You must rebuke these voices vehemently. God had already resolved your problem before it ever came your way. There is no situation too difficult for Him to intervene.
Verse 5 of today’s Scriptural text says that when the Lord is through with you, you will hardly believe what He has done. Psalm 126 says, “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.” God will do things in your life that will seem like a dream.
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1–44) to show us that He can reverse any situation, no matter how hopeless it may seem. No matter how hopeless your situation is, God can bring glory out of it.
In today’s text, Habakkuk cried, “How long shall I cry?” This indicates that he had been crying out to God for some time, yet it seemed that things were becoming more difficult. However, when God replied, He declared that His intervention would be astonishing.
While you wait on the Lord for His intervention in any situation:
1. Don’t stop speaking to God. Make up your mind that there is no turning back from God.
2. Hold on to His promises—His promises are as real as reality.
3. Keep praising God until the very end.
4. Rest assured that God is with you, regardless of the situation.
I shall hear your testimony, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Declarations:
I know that my God will turn things around. I have seen Him turn many situations around in my life before, and He will also turn my current situation around. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
