JESUS THE SON GOD

TEXT: MATTHEW 3:17 KJV

[17] and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

 Discussions:

Today’s devotional focuses on Jesus as the Son of God. It is very important that we know the Jesus we serve so that when our faith in Him is challenged, we will already be firmly established in Him.

I am sure you have been asked the question before: “If God does not have a wife, then how is Jesus the Son of God?” Referring to Jesus as the Son of God is the best way to express the relationship between God the Father and God the Son in a way that the human mind can understand. It does not mean “son” in the human sense of a child born through a husband and wife. Rather, it means that Jesus Christ possesses the attributes and nature of the Son in relation to God the Father.

The Trinity refers to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three are one, yet they function in different roles. Today, we are focusing on God the Son, Jesus Christ.
Imagine a father-and-son relationship. A son is a younger version of his father. Although he may be younger, he carries the DNA of his father. Therefore, certain activities, such as playing with toys, may be more appropriate for the son than for the father. The son may play with toys, but he is still a human being like his father.

In a similar way, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came in human form to relate to the people whom God the Father created (Philippians 2:8).
While on earth, Jesus prayed to God the Father (John 17:26; Luke 23:34, among other passages).

Jesus being the Son of God simply means that the Lord came in human form to relate to mankind and demonstrate God’s love for humanity (John 3:16).
It is also important to note that God’s plan involving the Son was not something that began after mankind sinned. God the Son (Jesus Christ) has existed from the beginning. He was present at creation. He was referred to the Word during creation(John 1:1-4) that is one of the reasons Jesus came to the earth by the word sent to Mary (Luke 1:31). Jesus the son was also among those referred to when God said, “Let us make man in our image” (Genesis 1:26).

Summary
Jesus is Lord.
Jesus is the Son of God.
Jesus is not a new plan of God the Father because man sinned.

I believe this would answer someone using the devotional that is always confronted with questions about Jesus as the son of God.

I shall hear your testimony in Jesus name.

Declaration:

Jesus is Lord and He is the son of God. Amen
