TOUGH BUT RIGHT DECISIONS

 TEXT: 1 KINGS 15:13 KJV

[13] And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

 Discussions:

Sometimes we have to make tough but right decisions. Some decisions may be uncommon, but they are necessary at that point in time to fulfill God’s purpose. Asa became king over Jerusalem, and he needed to set things right and avoid costly sentiments. He removed all the idols his fathers had made. He even removed his own mother from being queen because she was involved in idol worship.

As Christians, when it comes to the things of God, we must avoid sentiment, no matter how close or personal it may feel. God may be drawing someone’s attention to certain areas in their life that need urgent correction, but the person may be more concerned about what others will say. Such a person risks missing out on God’s plan.

My recommendation is this: when you are sure of what God is saying to you, ask Him for guidance on how to carry it out. Then follow those steps without any form of sentiments. Knowing where you are going does not guarantee a safe journey. It is important to ask Him “how” when you already know the “what.” And once you understand both the what and the how of the assignment, make the tough decisions without sentiment.

Declaration:

I shall not miss out on God”s divine plan for my life in Jesus. I receive the grace to make those tough but right decisions God wants me to make in Jesus name.
