TEXT: MARK 4:7, 18–19
[7] And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
[18] And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
[19] and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Discussions:
We are looking at the parable of the sower again today. This category of believers represents those who are distracted by the things of this world. Beloved brethren, I encourage us to think deeply about this today. This is a major tool the enemy uses in this generation.
Not everyone who starts the race of the Christian journey will finish as a champion. The advent of many high-level technological advancements has greatly benefited humanity, but at the same time, it has also become a major reason many Christians may not finish their journey well.
We live in a generation that is controlled by social media and status—a generation driven by likes and views. Idols are now everywhere, and we may worship them unknowingly.
May the Lord open our eyes to the idols around us and give us the grace to do away with them, in Jesus’ name. We also need to be careful when our blessings increase so that we do not get carried away by them.
I pray today that the Lord will help many backsliders and bring them back home, in Jesus’ name.
Declarations:
I shall not get carried away, in Jesus’ name.
I shall reach my end goal, in Jesus’ name.
