BLESSED ARE YE THAT HUNGER

 TEXT: LUKE 6:21

[21] Blessed are you who hunger now, For you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh.”

 Discussions:

Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger now, for they shall be filled.” The hunger referred to here means passion. One of the things that comes under attack as we continue waiting for the second coming of our Master is our passion for Him.
Our hunger for Jesus should be evident in our prayer life, our study of God’s Word, and our evangelism. People should not be able to stay with us for an hour without hearing something about Jesus, either directly or indirectly.

Many Christians read their Bibles daily until their passion for the things of God begins to decline. It goes from daily reading to once a week, then once a month, and eventually the Bible gets neglected or even lost. The Bible tells us that the love of many will grow cold as a sign of the end times.
If you are finding prayer difficult, your passion is fading. If you feel comfortable without reading the Bible, your passion is fading. If you do not find evangelism interesting, your passion is fading.

Also, we need to take note of the word “now” in the text above. Our hunger for the Lord should not be based on yesterday’s passion. We must hunger for Him now and not live on the hunger of yesterday. We are called to remain hungry for the Lord at every moment.

The good news is that Jesus is ready to fill us if we go to Him and ask Him to fill us afresh. He will surely fill us again with passion for Him.

Declaration:

I shall hunger now and I shall be filled in Jesus name
