TEXT: PROVERBS 22:5 KJV
“Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: He that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.”
Discussion
Today, we shall be looking at the introduction given to Paul as a man separated unto the gospel of God. Paul is perhaps the least person who should have been introduced this way. Humanly speaking, his previous record was terrible. However, as far as God is concerned, Paul was a brand-new man.
When God looks at us, He does not look at us on the basis of our sins and shortcomings. The moment we give our lives to Jesus Christ, He cleanses us from all our sins and iniquities. He forgives us and remembers them no more.
The moment we ask God for mercy and forgiveness of our sins, He activates His mercy instantly. God has already made forgiveness available for all our sins, even before we commit them. He only requires us to acknowledge our shortcomings, repent of our sins, turn a new leaf, and accept the forgiveness that has already been made available to us.
He died for us while we were still sinners. The blood of Jesus was already made available for us; all we need to do is tap into the forgiveness of sins that He has provided.
It is important to go boldly into the presence of God with the mentality of an overcomer who is accepted by Jesus Christ, and not with a mentality of rejection.
Saul persecuted Christians, not Paul. Saul committed the murders, not Paul. God changed him, and he became a brand-new person. He became a vessel separated unto God.
We must note that after we have been forgiven, we should not allow the devil to draw us back into the very things we used to do before. We must be ready to turn a new leaf, just like the Apostle Paul.
God has made every grace available to us to do His will. When our sins are forgiven, our relationship with God changes; we become God’s children, and we cannot afford to go back to our former lives. If you are reading this devotional today and are still living in sin, please go to God and ask Him for mercy, and all your sins will be forgiven.
Declaration:
Thank You, Lord, for forgiving me of all my sins. All my record of sins has been washed away.
