The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,-

We shall be concluding the purpose of the anointing today. We shall be emphasizing the anointing that delivers from satanic captivity. Satan follows certain steps before finally possessing a person. According to Lester Sumrall (a well-known evangelist of earlier times), Satan possesses in seven stages, which I will briefly highlight below:
1. Regression: Reversion to earlier behaviour — going backward
2. Repression: a life without — To keep down. To prevent natural expression. To restrain
3. Suppression: Inability to express your true emotions and ideas
4. Depression: Low spirits, gloominess, sadness
5. Oppression: To overpower and overwhelm
6. Obsession: To seize; to be fixed on a single idea to an unreasonable degree
7. Possession: To inhabit or occupy, to control, to take hold, to dominate, and to rule by force
Satan goes through these stages to capture humans, and the purpose of the anointing of God on a believer is to break this chain of processes in the lives of God’s people. As we desire the anointing and passionately serve God, it brings deliverance to mankind.
Finally, note that the anointing restores both our spiritual and physical sight. May the Lord anoint us to serve Him more and to do His will, in Jesus’ name

1. In Jesus name the burden is lifed off my shoulder, the yoke is destroyed because of the anointing
2. In Jesus name I and my household shall not be touched by the wicked because of the anointing
3. In Jesus name I shall set others free from satanic captivity because of the anointing.
