“They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.”

The text above shows how Solomon expressed his wisdom. He made the men of war hold their swords and remain ready for the night. They had their offensive weapons in their hands.
The weapon of our warfare is not carnal. Our sword is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). Many Christians are living their everyday lives without their sword. It is not enough to know the Bible; we must know how to apply the Word of God when it is needed.
There are many reasons to know the Word of God. One very important reason is to prepare for the night.
There will be times when we need to go on the offensive against the enemy. Going without the Word of God will leave us exposed.
Brethren, let us prioritise the Word of God. That is our sword for the battle.
Declaration:
I shall hold my sword. Read and meditate on the word of God daily. I shall apply God’s word to every situation of my life in Jesus name.
