TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The scripture reading today advises us on what to do at all times as soldiers of Christ. The moment we give our lives to Christ, we are enlisted into the army of Christ. As soldiers, there are preparations and tools or weapons that are important for warfare.
Apostle Paul advises us to put on the whole armour of God, that is, the full gear needed to be ready at any time and on any day. This means that challenging days and days of battle will surely come, but we must be prepared.
A soldier does not learn about war on the battlefield. Preparation takes place during times of peace. Believers must learn to pray intensely before challenges arise. Believers must learn to fast before challenges come. Believers must learn to put their faith to the test before challenges appear. Believers must also learn to study God’s Word before challenges come.
Stand ready, soldier of Christ.
