SENSITIVE LEADER

 TEXT: 1 KINGS 12:4

“Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.”

 Discussions:

The text above shows how Solomon (the man with great wisdom) led the people of Isreal with great level of excellence and wisdom, but the people felt the yoke upon them was grievous and burdensome.

We must be sensitive when leading people, or when leading our families. We need to know how to balance diligence and excellence with rest. Man naturally desires rest, so we must be careful that those under our leadership do not become slothful or full of excuses. We must also be sensitive to the needs of the people under our leadership. We are not to use them only to achieve our goals while ignoring their own personal goals. A good leader should go far and beyond with regards the personal goals of every member of his team.

Also, parents must be sensitive to the needs of their children. We should be careful not to lay heavy burdens upon them because of our own goals and aspirations whilst encouraging hard work, resilience and courage. May the Lord help us.

Declaration:

I shall not lead people wrongly in Jesus name
