Discussions:
The two main people in the scriptures above are Bartimaeus and the lame man at the Beautiful Gate. These men received their miracles through different approaches. Bartimaeus had great faith and kept crying out to Jesus until the Lord responded to him. However, the lame man at the Beautiful Gate was not even expecting a miracle. He only wanted silver or gold from Peter and John, yet he received a miracle that he was not expecting. This shows us that God is sovereign. He can do anything He wants, in any way He chooses and at any time. God is God after all.
Sometimes God may bypass your faith to perform a miracle for you, and at other times He may wait until you cry out to Him in faith.
The general rule is that we should cry out to God, but His mercy can override our low level of faith and still grant us a miracle. Ask God to help you have strong faith in Him, and ask His mercy to cover every area where your faith is not strong enough. Every miracle that will ultimately give God glory will surely happen, even if it requires God bypassing your faith. Both miracles mentioned above brought glory to God in the end. Can you prove to God that your life and the miracles you are expecting will also give Him glory? If you can, then your miracle is already on the way in Jesus’ name.
Prayer focus:
Lord, please have mercy on me. Let Your mercy speak for me, O Lord.
