TEXT: ACTS 12:21-23
[21] And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. [22] And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. [23] And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
Discussions:
Herod learnt the lessons of his life. King Herod had so much power that he could do whatever he liked. He killed James, imprisoned Peter to be killed the next day before God delivered Peter. Until he decides to receive the accolade that belonged to God before the angel of God struck him and worms from nowhere ate him up alive. That is a very scary imagination. Brethren, be careful when God blesses you, uses you, or lifts you higher. Don’t take God’s glory. Always return all the glory to God immediately. It could be very tempting when men begin to hail you. You may not be able to control men, but you have to control how the hailing of men settles into your heart.
Declarations:
I shall do all God has asked me to do in Jesus’ name
