TEXT: PROVERBS 6:4 KJV
Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids.
Discussions:
Today’s devotional encourages us to keep watch, especially at the midnight hour. Many activities of the devil occur when man sleeps. The enemy does not sleep, but man does. He knows this, so he targets the sleeping time to attack any child of God. Some of the battles we face today came when man slept. When man slept, the enemy came (Matt. 13:25).
Sleep is very good for the body, and our individual sleep needs may be different. Good sleep helps our brain function well; however, too much sleep is as dangerous as too much food.
Adjusting our body to pray a bit at night is very good, even if it is fifteen minutes of consistent midnight prayer. This keeps our environment charged in the spirit and keeps our spirit on guard when we are in deep sleep. It puts our spirit in defensive and offensive mode against the works of darkness.
Brethren, make a decision to pray 15 minutes daily at midnight, especially in the spirit, and it will amaze you how strong your spirit man will become.
This is the secret of spiritual warriors.
Declarations:
I am not a weak, sleepy Christian. I am a soldier for the Lord. I destroy every lullaby of the devil causing me to sleep when I should be awake praying, in the name of Jesus.
